uring the amazing songs of Billy Joel and Elton John. This concert experie

band and a stringed quartet section. With spectacular arrangements by Chri
s Eastburn\, these songs have rarely been performed live in this way!</p>
\n<p>The music of “Piano Men” concentrates heavily on recordings by Elton
and Billy during their 70s heyday when their many hit albums featured lush
orchestrations. The concert works its way through #1 hits including Tiny
Dancer\, Scenes From an Italian Restaurant\, Your Song\, Goodbye Yellow Br
 ick Road\, Piano Man\, and MANY more!</p>\n<p>About Joe Boucher</p>\n<p>Jo
e grew up in the quaint seaside village of Biddeford Maine on the New Engl
and coast. He is a singer and songwriter who\, for eight years\, fronted t
he power pop band Frotus Caper. They recorded and released four critically
acclaimed albums while performing constantly. Throughout that time he wor
ked regularly as a studio session musician\, playing piano and arranging p

ed as the Concert Manager for The Portland Symphony Orchestra.</p>\n<p>Wha

 Suzanne Nance\, WFMT – Chicago</p>\n<p>“Piano Men is a wonderful\, surefir

ver-popular songs is brilliant. Backed up by Chris Eastburn’s masterful lu

  <a href='https://rosegardenfolk.com/music/shows/the-kennedys-nov-18-2023/
 ' target='_blank' rel='noopener'>Pete and Maura Kennedy</a> make a strong
return to the studio and stage after three years of weekly live-streamed l
ockdown-era concerts. They took the opportunity to explore classic songwri
ting in-depth\, performing over a thousand songs during the pandemic. That
vast overview strengthened and refined their own writing and laid the fou
ndation for this new collection of original\, socially-conscious songs.</p
 >\n<p>“After such a deep dive into American roots music\, we felt like we
had a new set of writing tools. We were ready to create this body of work\
, and there’s just SO much to write about\,” says Maura. “During our five-
year hiatus from writing and recording\, America changed in massive ways\,
divisive ways that have shaken our whole foundation. That has to be addre
ssed by creative artists\, those of us who have a voice to speak for other
 s. Our love of the great things about this country\, things that are under
threat\, is the reason we decided to make “Headwinds” the title track of
the CD. Political and social headwinds are making it hard to get back “hom
e’ to our greatness as a nation. We want to push back in a positive way ag
ainst those winds.”</p>\n<p>In addition to singing and writing\, Pete and
Maura are multi-instrumentalists. The thirteen songs are cast in a soundsc
ape that draws from the classic canon of American roots\, in keeping with
the theme of getting back “home” as a nation. Acoustic and electric guitar
 s\, a vintage steel guitar\, a gospel-inflected piano/organ mix\, and even
a slide ukulele all add colors to a song bag of sounds that have drawn us
together during hard times. Pete and Maura believe that those sounds stil
l have the power to pull us through again.</p>\n<p>The Kennedys began thei
r writing and touring life three decades ago as members of Nanci Griffith’
s Blue Moon Orchestra\, developing their own sound as a frequent support a
ct on Nanci’s tours across America\, Ireland\, Scotland and England. Colla
borations with Nanci continued\, culminating in Pete and Maura producing h
er final album\, “Intersections.” Along the way\, they hosted a nationwide
radio program\, “The Dharma Cafe” on Sirius/XM\, wrote and released sixte
en CDs of original music\, and have been core artists on folk radio\, expa
nding their audience further with the inception of the AAA and Americana f
 ormats.</p>\n<p>More Last Dance Productions events <a href='https://lastda

BERHARDT</a></p>\n<p>One of the most original songsmiths currently on tour
\, Eberhardt is a highly intelligent\, articulate artist whose penetrating
and profound lyrics are sometimes overshadowed by his extraordinary guita
r playing. Upon close listening\, the Philadelphia-born singer’s gift for
the English language is abundantly clear. The words that tumble from his m
outh are framed by a raspy yet deeply elegant voice. Like John Hammond and
Richie Havens\, Eberhardt continues to carry the torch for traditional an
d contemporary folk music through his strong live shows. Whether he’s out
 on tour solo or with a small band\, Eberhardt’s guitar playing\, singing\,

Godfrey Daniels coffeehouse in Bethlehem\, PA\, then the Greenwich Villag
e Fast Folk scene. Winning the prestigious New Folk award at the Kerrville
Folk Festival\, in 1984\, he was then signed to Red House Records on whic

DESCRIPTION:<p>Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin were best of friends\, some wo
uld even say brothers. The fact that they were two of the biggest stars of
the 20th century was beside the point. One For the Road pays homage to th
ese “brothers” and to a bygone era of swagger and living life to excess.</
p>\n<p>Patrick Tobin and Jimmy Mazz come together to bring you the ultra c
ool personalities of “The Chairman Of The Board”\, and “The King Of Cool.”
Patrick’s look and sound of Sinatra is amplified as he belts out hit afte
r hit while his dry wit is sure to strike your funny bone. Jimmy portrays
Dean’s signature look\, swagger and smooth vocal style as he sings the hit
s while delivering the one-liners and jokes that made Dean a phenomena.</p
 >\n<p>In addition to Sinatra and Martin classics\, the show will sprinkle
in holiday favorites\, like “It’s The Most Wonderful Time of the Year\,” “
Happy Holidays\,” “Let It Snow\,” “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas\

DESCRIPTION:<p>Presenting the Reunion Tour of “On A Winter’s Night” from ve
teran singer-songwriters who remain among the brightest stars of the singe
r/songwriter movement for the past three decades. In 1994\, Christine Lavi
n gathered them together\, along with folk and Americana artists\, to show
case the music of the Winter Season on the now-classic On A Winter’s Night
CD\, followed by several years of touring collaborations. These artists h
ave released dozens of recordings and toured steadily through the decades\
, with fond memories of their touring days together. The winter season is
again celebrated by these unique and popular performers\, back together by
  popular demand.</p>\n<p><a href='https://cliffeberhardt.net/' target='_bl
ank' rel='noopener'>CLIFF EBERHARDT</a></p>\n<p>One of the most original s
ongsmiths currently on tour\, Eberhardt is a highly intelligent\, articula
te artist whose penetrating and profound lyrics are sometimes overshadowed
by his extraordinary guitar playing. Upon close listening\, the Philadelp
hia-born singer’s gift for the English language is abundantly clear. The w
ords that tumble from his mouth are framed by a raspy yet deeply elegant v
oice. Like John Hammond and Richie Havens\, Eberhardt continues to carry t
he torch for traditional and contemporary folk music through his strong li
ve shows. Whether he’s out on tour solo or with a small band\, Eberhardt’s
guitar playing\, singing\, and original folk songs and blues make for a c
 ompelling\, thought-filled\, emotional roller coaster of a concert.</p>\n<
 p><a href='https://www.johngorka.com/' target='_blank' rel='noopener'>JOHN
GORKA</a></p>\n<p>Hailed by Rolling Stone as “the leading singer/songwrit
er of the New Folk movement\,” John Gorka is perhaps the quintessential si
nger-songwriter of the 90’s folk scene. Originally from New Jersey\, John
served an apprenticeship at Godfrey Daniels coffeehouse in Bethlehem\, PA\
, then the Greenwich Village Fast Folk scene. Winning the prestigious New
Folk award at the Kerrville Folk Festival\, in 1984\, he was then signed t
o Red House Records on which he released his landmark first of 17 recordin
gs\, I Know. Boston Globe penned Gorka “for the sophisticated intelligence
and the provocative originality of his songs.” Recent accolades include 2
016’s Indie Acoustic Project’s Best Singer/Songwriter CD of the Year for B
efore Beginning (Red House Records). 2018 brought his latest release\, and
14th of his career\, True In Time (Compass Records). True In Time (Compas
 s Records).</p>\n<p><a href='https://lucykaplansky.com/' target='_blank' r
 el='noopener'>LUCY KAPLANSKY</a></p>\n<p>“A truly gifted performer…full of
enchanting songs” (New York Times). Blending country\, folk and pop style
s\, Lucy has the unique ability to make every song sound fresh\, whether s
inging her own sweet originals\, covering country classics by June Carter
Cash and Gram Parsons\, or singing pop favorites by Lennon/McCartney and N
ick Lowe. Lucy’s iconic voice has been featured in film and on television\
, including commercials like Chevrolet’s iconic “Heartbeat of America” jin
gle. A Billboard-charting singer and one of the top-selling artists on Red
House Records\, she has topped the folk and Americana radio charts and ha
s been featured on shows throughout the world from NPR’s Weekend and Morni
ng Editions to BBC Radio to CBS Sunday Morning. One of the most in-demand
harmony singers\, Lucy has sung on countless records\, performing with Suz
anne Vega\, Bryan Ferry\, Nanci Griffith\, and Shawn Colvin.</p>\n<p><a hr
 ef='https://pattylarkin.com/' target='_blank' rel='noopener'>PATTY LARKIN<
/a></p>\n<p>She redefines the boundaries of folk-urban pop music with her
inventive guitar wizardry and uncompromising lyrics and vocals. Acoustic G
uitar Magazine hails her\, “soundscape experiments” while Rolling Stone pr
aises her\, “evocative and sonic shading.” She has been described as\, “ri
veting” (Chicago Tribune)\, “hypnotic” (Entertainment Weekly)\, and a “dro
p-dead brilliant” performer (Performing Songwriter). Recently an Artist-in
-Residence at Berklee College of Music – and now on the faculty at Fine Ar
ts Work Center – Larkin reflects\, “I have been energized by the poets\, w
riters\, and artists I have met while teaching\, and find myself on a jour
ney to break down some of the predictable pathways that songs can travel.”
Bird in a Cage\, her 14th CD now available\, puts poems from ten notable
poets to song\, including US Poet Laureates William Carlos Williams\, Stan
ley Kunitz\, Kay Ryan\, Robert Pinsky\, and Billy Collins\, for a new and
haunting collection that pulses with the magic of lyricism. Poems are made
to be shared aloud\, and with Bird\, Patty takes up that tradition and se
ts it aglow.</p>\n<p>You’ll undoubtedly be warm On This Winter’s Night.</p

atest “Bright Shining Stars” debuted at #15 on the Billboard Blues Charts.
Cascade Blues Association calls it <em>“… tough as rawhide\, but smooth a

s a solo acoustic folk/blues record that highlights the one-woman-band liv
e sound she’s honed over the years\, featuring guest appearances by talent
ed friends Laurence Scudder\, Peter Parcek and Richard “Rosy” Rosenblatt.
It includes originals as well as a collection of songs she’s been covering
at live shows over the years\, paying homage to influences like Big Bill
Broonzy\, Bob Dylan\, Janis Joplin and more\, plus the title track “Bright
Shining Stars\,” written by her husband\, Tom Bianchi.</p>\n<p>“Americana

her latest album\, Bright Shining Stars. Fingerpicking and strumming on ac

ed by the infectious stomp of her foot. Three of the 11 tracks here are so
lo recordings\, reinforcing a truism that the artist frequently has proven
on Boston-area stages: A charming voice and fluid guitar prowess are all
an artist needs to keep a listener rapt.” – Bobby Reed\, Downbeat Magazine
</p>\n<p>“Straddling the line where folk/roots meets rock/blues\, Miraglia
has a voice that can go from a raspy come-hither purr to an Etta James-es

a heavy\, thumping strike on her Gibson that’s backdrop percussion in itse

a musical butterfly who’s been granted unlimited creative metamorphoses. E
ven her musical chrysalis stage was a surprise emergence. Unlike so many B
oston artists who attended one of the city’s many music schools\, Miraglia
went to Emerson College\, graduating with a creative writing degree. Thou
gh she owned an acoustic guitar she seldom played anywhere but at home\, s
he hadn’t given any thought to making a career as a singer-songwriter unti
l one fateful night at the famous\, now-defunct Kendall Cafe. She went to
an open mic at the Kendall just to watch and absorb. It didn’t take long f
or it to register with her: “I thought\, ‘That’s what I want to do: Get on
stage to do my storytelling that way.’” Voila!</p>\n<p>Her evolution as a
songwriter and performer since then has been remarkable. She quickly won
great acclaim and a faithful national and regional following after beginni
ng as a “folk-blues” picker\, and it’s a persona she still skillfully embr
aces in solo shows\, but to hear her musical storytelling with such a fine
backing band as the satirically named Glory Junkies (Laurence Scudder\, v
 iola\; Erik White\, guitar\; Chris Anzalone\, drums\; and Jim Larkin\, bas
 s) is an entirely different dimension. That soul of a creative writer thri

homage to top influences such as Janis Joplin\, Prince and the Stones. No

und all her own. This is masterfully captured on her 2022 CD “DobroSinger.
” The record made it to #11 on the Billboard Blues Charts and #2 on the Fo
lk DJ Charts\, receiving rave reviews in Bluegrass Unlimited\, Acoustic Gu
itar Magazine and American Songwriter. It’s a raw intimate recording full
of blues\, ballads and the ache of the unknown. It’s quite a contrast to h
er previous CD\, which featured a co-write with Chris Stapleton and leaned
on full band production. Abbie stands strong as a solo act and has opened
for Lori McKenna and Martina McBride.</p>\n<p>Acoustic Guitar Magazine sa
ys\, “sheer brilliance and power … her evocative guitar is a second voice
throughout\, sometimes singing in unison\, in harmony other times\, or ans
wering as in a conversation with the singer. The playing and singing are b
oth impeccable and loaded with personality. You can hear every nuance of t
he slide\, smooth one moment or rattling slightly at the end of a phrase l
 ike punctuation\; and her intimate\, pitch-perfect vocals—wistful\, playfu
 l\, confessional—sound like they’re dancing with the guitar.”</p>\n<p>Her
background is as varied as the songs she writes. Her father\, Herb Gardner
\, is a stride pianist and dixieland trombonist. Abbie didn’t get into mus
ic school on her original instrument (flute)\, but graduated summa cum lau

eau’s Engine Room. Barry’s blues/rock ensemble includes his former RTZ ban

on bass. Both Maes and Archibald were members of Peter Wolf’s House Party
Five\, playing on two of his records and touring the world extensively. Th
e band is rounded out with “Old” Tony DePietro on drums and Mary Beth Maes
\, Terri O’Soro\, and Joanie Cicatelli on background vocals. Expect some f

CD Full Steam Ahead” covers the whole spectrum of blues and rock\, from t
he stripped down blues of “All Mine” to the all out rock assault of “Need”
. A longtime friend of Goudreau’s\, legendary bluesman James Montgomery\,
sits in on harp for “Layin’ it Down {In Beantown}.” Barry says\, “I wanted
to look back to the acts of the late sixties and early seventies when the
y were reinventing the blues in new and exciting ways”. Maes produced the
record in his studio with Goudreau recording the guitar tracks in his home

DESCRIPTION:<p><a href='https://www.kennedysmusic.com/home.html' target='_b
lank' rel='noopener'>The Kennedys.</a> Songwriting duo Pete and Maura Kenn
edy make a strong return to the studio and stage after three years of week
ly live-streamed lockdown-era concerts. They took the opportunity to explo
re classic songwriting in depth\, performing over a thousand songs during
the pandemic. That vast overview strengthened and refined their own writin
g and laid the foundation for this new collection of original\, socially-c
onscious songs.</p>\n<p>“After such a deep dive into American roots music\
, we felt like we had a new set of writing tools. We were ready to create
this body of work\, and there’s just SO much to write about\,” says Maura.
“During our five-year hiatus from writing and recording\, America changed
in massive ways\, divisive ways that have shaken our whole foundation. Th
at has to be addressed by creative artists\, those of us who have a voice
to speak for others. Our love of the great things about this country\, thi
ngs that are under threat\, is the reason we decided to make “Headwinds” t
he title track of the CD. Political and social headwinds are making it har
d to get back “home’ to our greatness as a nation. We want to push back in
a positive way against those winds.”</p>\n<p>In addition to singing and w
riting\, Pete and Maura are multi-instrumentalists. The thirteen songs are
cast in a soundscape that draws from the classic canon of American roots\
, in keeping with the theme of getting back “home” as a nation. Acoustic a
 nd electric guitars\, a vintage steel guitar\, a gospel-inflected piano/or
gan mix\, and even a slide ukulele all add colors to a songbag of sounds t
hat have drawn us together during hard times. Pete and Maura believe that
those sounds still have the power to pull us through again.</p>\n<p>The Ke
nnedys began their writing and touring life three decades ago as members o
f Nanci Griffith’s Blue Moon Orchestra\, developing their own sound as a f
requent support act on Nanci’s tours across America\, Ireland\, Scotland a
nd England. Collaborations with Nanci continued\, culminating in Pete and
Maura producing her final album\, “Intersections.” Along the way\, they ho
sted a nationwide radio program\, “The Dharma Cafe” on Sirius/XM\, wrote a
nd released sixteen CDs of original music\, and have been core artists on
folk radio\, expanding their audience further with the inception of the AA
 A and Americana formats.</p>\n<p>Tickets: <a class='ai1ec-ticket-url-expor

DESCRIPTION:<p>Monica Rizzio. A unique Americana singer-songwriter who blen
ds Texas influences and Cape Cod charm. A bonfire on a beach. A couple of
days with the one you love. Simply doing…nothing. The little joys in life.
  Americana singer-songwriter Monica Rizzio’s new album\, Sunshine Is Free\
, is all about the simple things that make it all worth it. The concept fo
r Sunshine Is Free was born on the road\, as Rizzio spent time under open
skies while touring. Realizing she needed to step outside of a New England
winter to write the follow-up to 2016’s Washashore Cowgirl\, Rizzio spent
the fall of 2018 traveling from her home in Cape Cod to Nashville for wri
ting sessions. Over a week in April at Skinny Elephant Recording\, she and
producer Michael Rinne (Caroline Spence\, Erin Rae & The Meanwhiles\, Kel
sey Waldon) as well as a stacked lineup of guest musicians including Mindy
  Smith\, Maya de Vitry\, Gwen Sebastian\, Joe Pisapia\, Will Kimbrough\, a

heard Laurie’s voice on the Red Molly album “Never Been to Vegas” and invi
ted her to sing the iconic Folgers Coffee jingle for a national TV commerc
ial.</p>\n<p>Her 2018 self-produced solo album “The Lies the Poets Tell” i
s a heartfelt tribute to the contemporary folk music scene\, celebrating a
handful of its best songs and songwriters. It features duets with six mal
e artists\, including the late Americana master Jimmy LaFave. SiriusXM pra

as produced by folk luminary Cliff Eberhardt and was first released indepe

 >\n<p>The name ‘<a href='http://www.johnnya.com/' target='_blank' rel='noo
pener'>Johnny A.</a>’ might not be so mainstream\, but there’s no doubt th
at it’s synonymous with guitar.</p>\n<p>His passion began at the age of th
irteen\, when he first saw the Beatles in Boston\, followed two years late
r by an in-person witnessing of Jimi Hendrix. From there\, he was hooked\,
getting a cheap beginner guitar to try and play along with his early hero
es — which also included Yardbirds icons Eric Clapton\, Jeff Beck\, and Ji
 mmy Page.<br />\nSoon enough\, Johnny A. got it.</p>\n<p>By the 1970’s\, h
e was forming bands in the New England area\, drawing attention from sever
al established musicians\, like Derek and the Dominos’ keyboardist Bobby W
hitlock and Doug Clifford of Creedence Clearwater Revival. Johnny A. becam
e Music Director of J. Geils Band singer Peter Wolf’s outfit\, coordinatin
g the onstage arrangements\, playing on several tours and co-producing Wol
f’s 1996 album\, *Long Line.* What’s more\, he was even asked to join The
Yardbirds as their lead guitarist in 2015.</p>\n<p>Tickets: <a class='ai1e
