Who We Are

Message from Last Dance Productions Owner Brian Quinn

I get great satisfaction out of helping organizations stage well-attended and well-produced events that truly achieve their desired outcomes. I enjoy leveraging my extensive event management, programming, artist relations and fundraising experience to get this done while achieving or outperforming budget, quality and timeliness objectives.

Hi, my name is Brian Quinn. I have spent over 20 years managing all aspects of public radio station WUMB in Boston, recognized as the nation’s premiere station for folk and acoustic music.  For most of these years I have served as the station’s program director. I was also  instrumental in planning and overseeing the annual Boston Folk Festival which annually drew thousands of participants to the University of Massachusetts. I have several years of experience producing events on The Boston Common, Copley Square, Harvard University’s Sanders Theater and The Somerville Theater.  I am a member of the International Folk Alliance and have a great commitment to public service.

I have literally done all of the jobs associated with event arrangement, production and promotion. That makes me comfortable filling in as a technical, logistical and operational resource in case of emergency or when it just makes good financial sense.

Promoting the arts and using the arts to promote causes are my passions. Therefore, I have been equally excited to produce outstanding results for both non-profit and for profit initiatives.

I work with these organizations to help them organize, promote and manage better and more cost effective events.

This includes screening, selecting and negotiating with service providers, venues, marketing channels, speakers and artists. I can execute all stage management, line production and logistical duties, including overseeing stage managers, technical directors, orchestra personnel managers and contractors, and off-site venue staff to produce elite programs.

Success!!  Your warmth, communication, and commitment to the cause throughout the planning stages as well as the night of the show, was an inspiration to all.  Great job!  Yay You and Yay Dick Pleasants!!

I’ve worked with Brian Quinn on several shows now, and all the production was so smooth and seamless that the only thing I had to worry about was making music for the sold-out audience. Working with Brian makes it easier and more enjoyable for me to do my job.

I live in Los Angeles and don’t know much about Last Dance. But I DO know Brian. He suggested I played the New Bedford Folk Festival and booked me into it. Not only was it one of the best and most enjoyable festivals i’ve attended and played, but the booking experience was also efficient, reassuring, helpful and supportive. So, I’d be willing to gamble that Last Dance is a reflection of Brian – a class act.
